भावार्थ:
इस प्रकार जगत् में समस्त जीव रोगी हैं, जो शोक, हर्ष, भय, प्रीति और वियोग के दुःख से और भी दुःखी हो रहे हैं। मैंने ये थोड़े से मानस रोग कहे हैं। ये हैं तो सबको, परंतु इन्हें जान पाए हैं कोई विरले ही।
English Translation:
In this way, all people in the world suffer from mental ailments such as grief, joy, fear, love, and separation. I have described some of these illnesses to you. Although these afflictions exist in everyone, only a few are able to recognize them.
भावार्थ:
प्राणियों को जलाने वाले ये पापी (रोग) जान लिए जाने से कुछ क्षीण अवश्य हो जाते हैं, परंतु नाश को नहीं प्राप्त होते। विषय रूप कुपथ्य पाकर ये मुनियों के हृदय में भी अंकुरित हो उठते हैं, तब बेचारे साधारण मनुष्य तो क्या चीज हैं।
English Translation:
Upon being detected, these sinful ailments that bring pain to the world may lessen in impact but are not entirely eradicated. Nourished by the unhealthy diet of material desires, they can sprout even in the hearts of sages—what hope, then, does an ordinary person have?
भावार्थ:
यदि श्री रामजी की कृपा से इस प्रकार का संयोग बन जाए तो ये सब रोग नष्ट हो जाएँ। सद्गुरु रूपी वैद्य के वचन में विश्वास हो। विषयों की आशा न करे, यही संयम (परहेज) हो।
English Translation:
All these ailments can undoubtedly be eradicated if, by Lord Ram’s grace, the following factors align: unwavering faith in the words of a true guru as the physician, control over the mind, and abstinence or detachment from all material desires.
भावार्थ:
श्री रघुनाथजी की भक्ति संजीवनी जड़ी है। श्रद्धा से पूर्ण बुद्धि ही अनुपान (दवा के साथ लिया जाने वाला मधु आदि) है। इस प्रकार का संयोग हो तो वे रोग भले ही नष्ट हो जाएँ, नहीं तो करोड़ों प्रयत्नों से भी नहीं जाते।
English Translation:
Lord Raghupati’s devotion is like the root of a life-giving herb, while a devout mind serves as the medium that aids in the administration, absorption, and effectiveness of the medicine of devotion. Through this process, the ailments can certainly be eradicated; without it, even countless efforts will fail to eliminate them.
भावार्थ:
हे गोसाईं! मन को निरोग हुआ तब जानना चाहिए, जब हृदय में वैराग्य का बल बढ़ जाए, उत्तम बुद्धि रूपी भूख नित नई बढ़ती रहे और विषयों की आशा रूपी दुर्बलता मिट जाए।
English Translation:
O’ Lord of the senses, a heart can be considered cured when it is filled with immense strength in the form of dispassion. The appetite for noble intellect continuously grows, while the weakness in the form of an appetite for material desires fades away.
भावार्थ:
इस प्रकार सब रोगों से छूटकर जब मनुष्य निर्मल ज्ञान रूपी जल में स्नान कर लेता है, तब उसके हृदय में राम भक्ति छा रहती है। शिवजी, ब्रह्माजी, शुकदेवजी, सनकादि और नारद आदि ब्रह्मविचार में परम निपुण जो मुनि हैं,

(Being thus rid of all diseases,) when a person bathes in the pure waters of wisdom, devotion to Lord Ram fills their heart. भावार्थ:
हे पक्षीराज! उन सबका मत यही है कि श्री रामजी के चरणकमलों में प्रेम करना चाहिए। श्रुति, पुराण और सभी ग्रंथ कहते हैं कि श्री रघुनाथजी की भक्ति के बिना सुख नहीं है।
English Translation:
…are of the unanimous opinion that one should cultivate devotion to the lotus feet of Lord Ram, O’ King of Birds. The Vedas, Puranas, and all the Scriptures declare that without devotion to Lord Raghupati, true happiness cannot be attained.
भावार्थ:
कछुए की पीठ पर भले ही बाल उग आवें, बाँझ का पुत्र भले ही किसी को मार डाले, आकाश में भले ही अनेकों प्रकार के फूल खिल उठें, परंतु श्री हरि से विमुख होकर जीव सुख नहीं प्राप्त कर सकता।
English Translation:
A tortoise may grow hair on its back, an infertile woman’s son may commit murder, and the sky may bloom with various kinds of flowers, but a person can never find happiness by being hostile to Lord Hari.
भावार्थ:
मृगतृष्णा के जल को पीने से भले ही प्यास बुझ जाए, खरगोश के सिर पर भले ही सींग निकल आवे, अन्धकार भले ही सूर्य का नाश कर दे, परंतु श्री राम से विमुख होकर जीव सुख नहीं पा सकता।
English Translation:
One’s thirst may be quenched by drinking water from a mirage, horns may grow on a rabbit’s head, and darkness may overcome the Sun, but a person can never attain happiness by turning away from Shri Ram.
भावार्थ:
बर्फ से भले ही अग्नि प्रकट हो जाए (ये सब अनहोनी बातें चाहे हो जाएँ), परंतु श्री राम से विमुख होकर कोई भी सुख नहीं पा सकता।
English Translation:
Fire may emerge from ice, but one cannot attain peace by opposing Shri Ram.
भावार्थ:
जल को मथने से भले ही घी उत्पन्न हो जाए और बालू से भले ही तेल निकल आवे, परंतु श्री हरि के भजन बिना संसार रूपी समुद्र से नहीं तरा जा सकता, यह सिद्धांत अटल है।
English Translation:
Clarified butter may be churned from water, or oil may be extracted by grinding sand, but without worshipping Lord Hari, one cannot cross the ocean of mundane existence. This ultimate conclusion is unchanging and absolute.
भावार्थ:
प्रभु मच्छर को ब्रह्मा कर सकते हैं और ब्रह्मा को मच्छर से भी तुच्छ बना सकते हैं। ऐसा विचार कर चतुर पुरुष सब संदेह त्यागकर श्री रामजी को ही भजते हैं।
English Translation:
The Lord can elevate a mosquito to the position of Lord Brahma or degrade Brahma ji to a position lower than a mosquito. Understanding this truth, the wise abandon all doubts and devote themselves to the worship of Lord Ram.
भावार्थ:
मैं आपसे भली-भाँति निश्चित किया हुआ सिद्धांत कहता हूँ- मेरे वचन अन्यथा (मिथ्या) नहीं हैं कि जो मनुष्य श्री हरि का भजन करते हैं, वे अत्यंत दुस्तर संसार सागर को (सहज ही) पार कर जाते हैं।
English Translation:
I share with you my firm conviction, and my words are not false in any condition: those who worship Shri Ram can effortlessly cross even the most turbulent ocean of mundane existence.
