भावार्थ:
सब लोग भगवान राम की महिमा को अच्छी तरह जानते हैं, फिर भी कोई बिना बताए नहीं रहता। वेद बताते हैं कि भगवान की भक्ति का असर बहुत गहरा होता है और उसका वर्णन कई तरह से किया गया है। मतलब भगवान की महिमा का पूरा वर्णन करना कठिन है, पर भजन जरूर करना चाहिए क्योंकि भजन से मनुष्य को दुखों से छुटकारा मिलता है।
English Translation:
While devotees are well aware of the infinite and indescribable greatness of Lord Ram, they still strive to express His glories to the best of their abilities. The Vedas emphasize that although no one can fully capture the boundless nature of His divinity, even a small act of devotion or chanting Lord Ram’s name holds immense spiritual power, capable of liberating one from the cycle of worldly existence.
भावार्थ:
भगवान एक हैं, जिनकी कोई इच्छा नहीं, न कोई रूप या नाम है। वे अजन्मा, सच्चिदानंद और परमधाम हैं। वे पूरे संसार में व्याप्त हैं और भगवान ने अपना दिव्य शरीर धारण कर कई लीला की हैं।
English Translation:
God is one, desireless, formless, beyond names, and unborn. He is Sachchidanand, the embodiment of truth, consciousness, and boundless bliss. He is the giver of liberation, infinite in nature, encompassing the entire Universe in His cosmic form. He is Brahm, the Supreme Soul, who manifests in a divine form and performs numerous divine acts.
भावार्थ:
भगवान अपनी लीला भक्तों के भले के लिए करते हैं। वे बहुत दयालु हैं और जो एक बार उनकी कृपा पाता है, उस पर कभी क्रोध नहीं करते।
English Translation:
He performs these acts for the welfare of His devotees, driven by His boundless compassion and love for those who surrender at His lotus feet. His affection and devotion towards His devotees are immeasurable. Once He bestows His grace upon His devotees, He remains ever-forgiving and never becomes angry with them.
भावार्थ:
श्री राम गरीबों के मित्र, सरल और सबके स्वामी हैं। बुद्धिमान लोग उनकी महिमा का वर्णन कर अपनी बातें पवित्र बनाते हैं।
English Translation:
Shri Ram, the King of the Raghu dynasty, is the Lord of all, embodying simplicity and unmatched power. He restores what His devotees have lost and, in His boundless kindness, grants them far more than they could ever imagine, even before they ask. (His blessings extend beyond material possessions, offering liberation or the rare gift of devotion, where one may be reborn as His devotee). Understanding this divine attribute of Shri Ram, wise individuals sing His glories, sanctifying their speech and making it profoundly beneficial for all who listen.
भावार्थ:
मैं भगवान राम की महिमा को उनके चरणों में सिर झुकाकर बताऊंगा। पहले मुनि जैसे व्यास जी ने उनकी महिमा गाई है। मैं भी उसी रास्ते पर चलना चाहता हूँ।
English Translation:
Inspired by the boundless strength of Shri Ram and humbly bowing at His lotus feet, I now undertake the composition of the sacred tale of Shri Ram’s virtues, Shri Ramcharitmanas. Great Sages like Rishi Valmiki and Rishi Vyas have already sung the glories of Lord Shri Ram, paving the way. It is through their guidance that I find it easy to follow this revered path.
भावार्थ:
अगर राजा नदियों पर पुल बना दें, तो छोटी-छोटी चींटियाँ भी आराम से उस पुल पर चलकर पार हो जाती हैं। इसी तरह, मुनियों की महिमा से मैं भी भगवान राम की कथा लिख पाऊंगा।
English Translation:
When mighty kings build bridges over vast rivers, even tiny ants can cross them effortlessly. Similarly, with the guidance of the great sages who have already sung the glories of Lord Shri Ram, I too can hope to compose the tale of His divine virtues with ease, just as those ants cross the great rivers with the support of the bridge.
भावार्थ:
इस तरह मन को शक्ति दिखाकर मैं रामजी की कथा लिखूँगा। कई बड़े कवि जैसे व्यास जी ने पहले से ही भगवान की महिमा बताई है।
English Translation:
Reflecting on this strength, I reassure my heart and set forth to narrate the beautiful tale of Shri Ram, Shri Ram. Rishi Vyas and many exalted poets have reverently sung of the glorious fame of Lord Hari, paving the way for this humble endeavour.
भावार्थ:
मैं उन सभी कवियों के चरणों में प्रणाम करता हूँ, जो मेरी सभी इच्छाएँ पूरी करें। साथ ही मैं कलियुग के उन कवियों को भी प्रणाम करता हूँ, जिन्होंने रामजी के गुणों का वर्णन किया है।
English Translation:
I humbly bow to these supreme poets and beseech them to grant the fulfilment of all my heart’s desires. I also offer bow to the poets of Kaliyug who have narrated the divine qualities of Shri Ram, Shri Ram, with devotion and reverence.
भावार्थ:
मैं उन सब बुद्धिमान कवियों को प्रणाम करता हूँ, जो भगवान के चरित्र का वर्णन करते हैं — पुराने, वर्तमान और आने वाले सभी कवियों को।
English Translation:
I humbly bow, with a sincere and pure heart, to all the wise poets of the present who have narrated the character of Lord Ram in local languages. I also offer my regards to the poets of the past and to those who will be born in the future, honouring their devotion and contributions to glorifying Shri Ram.
भावार्थ:
आप सब खुश होकर मुझे वरदान दें कि मेरी कविता साधु समाज में सम्मान पाए, क्योंकि बिना बुद्धिमानों के आदर के, कवि का प्रयास व्यर्थ होता है।
English Translation:
May all of you be pleased with me and bestow upon me the boon that my poetry finds honour in the assembly of saints. For if the wise and learned scholars do not value the work, it becomes a futile endeavour, the effort of an unrefined poet without merit.
भावार्थ:
कीर्ति, कविता और सम्पत्ति वही अच्छी होती है, जो सबका भला करे, जैसे गंगा नदी। रामजी की कीर्ति बहुत अच्छी है, लेकिन मेरी कविता उतनी अच्छी नहीं है। इसी बात का मुझे दुःख है।
English Translation:
Fame, composition, and wealth are only meaningful when they bring benefit to others, just like the sacred river Ganga. The fame of Shri Ram is both beautiful and uplifting, but I fear my composition lacks such beauty. This dilemma weighs heavily on my heart and fills me with anxiety.
भावार्थ:
परंतु आपकी कृपा से मेरी कविता भी अच्छी हो सकती है, जैसे रेशम की सिलाई सस्ते कपड़े को भी सुंदर बनाती है।
English Translation:
Yet, with your grace, O’ Great poets, this composition will come to life with ease. Just as intricate embroidery with silk threads enhances even coarse cloth, your blessings can make my humble efforts appear beautiful and meaningful.
भावार्थ:
बुद्धिमान लोग सरल, शुद्ध और सच्चे भावों वाली कविता की सराहना करते हैं, जो सुनकर शत्रु भी बैर भूल जाएं।
English Translation:
Wise individuals value a composition that is simple, dignified, and expressed in pure, noble words. Such a work, when heard, has the power to dissolve even the deepest animosity, inspiring praise and admiration from foes themselves.
भावार्थ:
ऐसी कविता बिना साफ दिमाग के नहीं बनती और मेरा दिमाग कमजोर है, इसलिए मैं बार-बार आपसे प्रार्थना करता हूँ कि कृपया मुझे रामजी की महिमा कहने की शक्ति दें।
English Translation:
Such a feat is impossible without the strength of a pure and focused mind, and my mind lacks that strength. Therefore, I humbly and repeatedly beseech the great poets to show their mercy upon me, blessing me with the grace to narrate the glories of Lord Hari.
भावार्थ:
कवि और विद्वान जो रामचरित के महान ज्ञाता हैं, मेरी विनती सुनकर मुझ पर दया करें।
English Translation:
The poets and pundits are like graceful swans in the serene lake of Lord Ram’s divine deeds. I humbly appeal to you, like a child, and with sincere devotion in my heart, I ask you to understand my pure love and shower your mercy
