भावार्थ: जिनको कर्म, वचन और मन से मेरी ही गति है और जो निष्काम भाव से मेरा भजन करते हैं, उनके हृदय कमल में मैं सदा विश्राम किया करता हूँ॥16॥
English Translation: I perpetually rest in the lotus-like hearts of those individuals whose goal is only to attain me, those who wholeheartedly dedicate themselves to me in thought, word and deed, and those who worship me without expecting anything in return.
भावार्थ: इस भक्ति योग को सुनकर लक्ष्मणजी ने अत्यंत सुख पाया और उन्होंने प्रभु श्री रामचंद्रजी के चरणों में सिर नवाया। इस प्रकार वैराग्य, ज्ञान, गुण और नीति कहते हुए कुछ दिन बीत गए॥1॥
English Translation: Shri Lakshman attained immense happiness listening to Shri Ram’s discourse on the discipline of Bhakti Yoga (Penance in the form of Devotion) and he bowed his head on Shri Ram’s feet. In this manner, a few days were spent on discourses on dispassion, spiritual wisdom, virtues and rules of righteousness.
भावार्थ: शूर्पणखा नामक रावण की एक बहिन थी, जो नागिन के समान भयानक और दुष्ट हृदय की थी। वह एक बार पंचवटी में गई और दोनों राजकुमारों को देखकर विकल (काम से पीड़ित) हो गई॥2॥
English Translation: Ravan, the Demon King of Lanka, had a sister named Shurpanakha. She possessed a foul-heart and cruel nature, like that of a serpent. One day, she went to Panchvati and found herself unable to contain her lustful desires upon encountering the two princes, Shri Ram and Lakshman ji.
भावार्थ: (काकभुशुण्डिजी कहते हैं-) हे गरुड़जी! (शूर्पणखा- जैसी राक्षसी, धर्मज्ञान शून्य कामान्ध) स्त्री मनोहर पुरुष को देखकर, चाहे वह भाई, पिता, पुत्र ही हो, विकल हो जाती है और मन को नहीं रोक सकती। जैसे सूर्यकान्तमणि सूर्य को देखकर द्रवित हो जाती है (ज्वाला से पिघल जाती है)॥3॥
English Translation: Kak Bhushundi ji said to the King of Birds, Garud ji, “A wicked woman like Shurpanakha, who succumbs to lust at the sight of any handsome man, be it her own brother, father, or son, loses control of herself and melts away (in the fire of lust) just like the sun-gem in the presence of the Sun.”
भावार्थ: वह सुन्दर रूप धरकर प्रभु के पास जाकर और बहुत मुस्कुराकर वचन बोली- न तो तुम्हारे समान कोई पुरुष है, न मेरे समान स्त्री। विधाता ने यह संयोग (जोड़ा) बहुत विचार कर रचा है॥4॥
English Translation: She assumed a charming form and approached Lord Ram with a lovely smile, saying, “There is no man like You, and there is no woman like myself. This encounter has been orchestrated by the Lord after careful contemplation…”
भावार्थ: मेरे योग्य पुरुष (वर) जगत्भर में नहीं है, मैंने तीनों लोकों को खोज देखा। इसी से मैं अब तक कुमारी (अविवाहित) रही। अब तुमको देखकर कुछ मन माना (चित्त ठहरा) है॥5॥
English Translation: …I have been searching for a suitable match across all the three realms of the cosmos, but have not found even one to date. That is why I have remained unmarried, and it is only after seeing you now that my mind has found some solace.”
भावार्थ: सीताजी की ओर देखकर प्रभु श्री रामजी ने यह बात कही कि मेरा छोटा भाई कुमार है। तब वह लक्ष्मणजी के पास गई। लक्ष्मणजी ने उसे शत्रु की बहिन समझकर और प्रभु की ओर देखकर कोमल वाणी से बोले-॥6॥
English Translation: Glancing at Sita ji, Lord Ram said, “My younger brother is a bachelor”. Subsequently, Shurpanakha approached Lakshman ji. Recognizing her as the sister of their enemy, Ravan, Shri Lakshman looked at Shri Ram and spoke sweet words,…
भावार्थ: हे सुंदरी! सुन, मैं तो उनका दास हूँ। मैं पराधीन हूँ, अतः तुम्हे सुभीता (सुख) न होगा। प्रभु समर्थ हैं, कोसलपुर के राजा है, वे जो कुछ करें, उन्हें सब फबता है॥7॥
English Translation: …”Listen, O’ Beautiful lady, I am His servant. One who is under the control of a master cannot be perfect for you from any angle. The Lord is the all-capable King of the Koshal Kingdom. Whatever He does, is indeed worthy of Him…
भावार्थ: सेवक सुख चाहे, भिखारी सम्मान चाहे, व्यसनी (जिसे जुए, शराब आदि का व्यसन हो) धन और व्यभिचारी शुभ गति चाहे, लोभी यश चाहे और अभिमानी चारों फल- अर्थ, धर्म, काम, मोक्ष चाहे, तो ये सब प्राणी आकाश को दुहकर दूध लेना चाहते हैं (अर्थात् असंभव बात को संभव करना चाहते हैं)॥8॥
English Translation: …For a servant to desire comfort, a beggar to seek respect, someone pursuing sensory desires to crave riches, a person engaged in adultery to yearn for liberation, the greedy to anticipate glory, and an egoistic individual to long for the four fruits of life is like asking for milk by milking the sky (it is absolutely impossible).”
भावार्थ: वह लौटकर फिर श्री रामजी के पास आई, प्रभु ने उसे फिर लक्ष्मणजी के पास भेज दिया। लक्ष्मणजी ने कहा- तुम्हें वही वरेगा, जो लज्जा को तृण तोड़कर (अर्थात्् प्रतिज्ञा करके) त्याग देगा (अर्थात् जो निपट निर्लज्ज होगा)॥9॥
English Translation: Then she turned again and approached Shri Ram. However, the Lord directed her back to Lakshman ji. Lakshman ji remarked, “Only the one who has discarded all shame, like a blade of grass, will marry you.”
भावार्थ: तब वह खिसियायी हुई (क्रुद्ध होकर) श्री रामजी के पास गई और उसने अपना भयंकर रूप प्रकट किया। सीताजी को भयभीत देखकर श्री रघुनाथजी ने लक्ष्मण को इशारा देकर कहा॥10॥
English Translation: Shurpanakha, infuriated, approached Shri Ram and unveiled her fearsome demonic form. Observing that Sita ji was frightened, Lord Ram, through the direction of His eyes, instructed Lakshman ji to take action.
भावार्थ: लक्ष्मणजी ने बड़ी फुर्ती से उसको बिना नाक-कान की कर दिया। मानो उसके हाथ रावण को चुनौती दी हो!॥17॥
English Translation: Lakshman ji, with great agility, cut off her nose and ears, thereby presenting a challenge to Ravan through her.
भावार्थ: बिना नाक-कान के वह विकराल हो गई। (उसके शरीर से रक्त इस प्रकार बहने लगा) मानो (काले) पर्वत से गेरू की धारा बह रही हो। वह विलाप करती हुई खर-दूषण के पास गई (और बोली-) हे भाई! तुम्हारे पौरुष (वीरता) को धिक्कार है, तुम्हारे बल को धिक्कार है॥1॥
English Translation: Without nose and ears and with blood flowing from there, she wore a ghastly appearance, resembling a mountain streaming with torrents of red ochre. Lamenting, she went to Khar and Dushan and exclaimed, “Shame on the valor of your manhood, brothers.”
भावार्थ: उन्होंने पूछा, तब शूर्पणखा ने सब समझाकर कहा। सब सुनकर राक्षसों ने सेना तैयार की। राक्षस समूह झुंड के झुंड दौड़े। मानो पंखधारी काजल के पर्वतों का झुंड हो॥2॥
English Translation: Upon questioning, she disclosed all the details, and the demons prepared their army for battle. Numerous divisions of demons rushed forward, resembling an army of dark mountains with wings.
भावार्थ: वे अनेकों प्रकार की सवारियों पर चढ़े हुए तथा अनेकों आकार (सूरतों) के हैं। वे अपार हैं और अनेकों प्रकार के असंख्य भयानक हथियार धारण किए हुए हैं। उन्होंने नाक-कान कटी हुई अमंगलरूपिणी शूर्पणखा को आगे कर लिया॥3॥
English Translation: Demons with diverse shapes boarded different types vehicles and carried a multitude of weapons. They were terrifying to look at and infinite in number. With inauspicious looks, devoid of ears and nose, Shurpanakha led them.
भावार्थ: अनगिनत भयंकर अशकुन हो रहे हैं, परंतु मृत्यु के वश होने के कारण वे सब के सब उनको कुछ गिनते ही नहीं। गरजते हैं, ललकारते हैं और आकाश में उड़ते हैं। सेना देखकर योद्धा लोग बहुत ही हर्षित होते हैं॥4॥
English Translation: On the way, innumerable fearsome ill-omens occurred. But being under the influence of their impending death, they paid no heed to nor counted the inauspicious occurrences. They roared and swore in the sky. Upon seeing the army, the brave fighters were filled with extreme joy.
भावार्थ: कोई कहता है दोनों भाइयों को जीता ही पकड़ लो, पकड़कर मार डालो और स्त्री को छीन लो। आकाशमंडल धूल से भर गया। तब राम ने लक्ष्मण को बुलाकर उनसे कहा॥5॥
English Translation: Someone shouted, “Capture the two Brothers alive, then eliminate them, and seize the woman.” The entire sky was filled with dust. Observing the approaching army, Shri Ram said to His younger brother,…
भावार्थ: राक्षसों की भयानक सेना आ गई है। जानकीजी को लेकर तुम पर्वत की कंदरा में चले जाओ। सावधान रहना। प्रभु श्री रामचंद्रजी के वचन सुनकर लक्ष्मणजी हाथ में धनुष-बाण लिए श्री सीताजी सहित चले॥6॥
English Translation: …”Take Janaki into the cave of the mountain, the terrible army of demons is approaching. Remain on full alert.” Lakshman ji then proceeded with Sita ji, carrying his bow and arrow in his hands.
भावार्थ: शत्रुओं की सेना (समीप) चली आई है, यह देखकर श्री रामजी ने हँसकर कठिन धनुष को चढ़ाया॥7॥
English Translation: Observing the army of demons approaching, Lord Ram laughed loudly and strung His mighty bow.
भावार्थ: कठिन धनुष चढ़ाकर सिर पर जटा का जू़ड़ा बाँधते हुए प्रभु कैसे शोभित हो रहे हैं, जैसे मरकतमणि (पन्ने) के पर्वत पर करोड़ों बिजलियों से दो साँप लड़ रहे हों। कमर में तरकस कसकर, विशाल भुजाओं में धनुष लेकर और बाण सुधारकर प्रभु श्री रामचंद्रजी राक्षसों की ओर देख रहे हैं। मानों मतवाले हाथियों के समूह को (आता) देखकर सिंह (उनकी ओर) ताक रहा हो।
English Translation: After stringing His formidable bow, Shri Ram gathered the matted locks of His hair and fashioned them into a bun atop His head. He radiated glory like an emerald mountain, with His two hands resembling serpents locked in a battle amidst innumerable streaks of lightning, symbolized by His cascading hairlocks. Shri Ram then secured His quiver around His waist. With His mighty arms, He held the bow in one hand and arranging His arrow, gazed at the army like a lion observing a herd of huge elephants.
भावार्थ: ‘पकड़ो-पकड़ो’ पुकारते हुए राक्षस योद्धा बाग छोड़कर (बड़ी तेजी से) दौड़े हुए आए (और उन्होंने श्री रामजी को चारों ओर से घेर लिया), जैसे बालसूर्य (उदयकालीन सूर्य) को अकेला देखकर मन्देह नामक दैत्य घेर लेते हैं॥18॥
English Translation: The powerful demon warriors came rushing with speed, shouting, “Capture Him! Capture Him!” like demons closing in on the rising Sun, finding it all alone.
भावार्थ: (सौंदर्य-माधुर्यनिधि) प्रभु श्री रामजी को देखकर राक्षसों की सेना थकित रह गई। वे उन पर बाण नहीं छोड़ सके। मंत्री को बुलाकर खर-दूषण ने कहा- यह राजकुमार कोई मनुष्यों का भूषण है॥1॥
English Translation: But when they saw the Lord, they were unable to discharge their weapons. The demon army was struck with awe upon beholding Shri Ram. Khar and Dushan called their minister and asked, “Who is this Prince, a jewel amongst men?…
भावार्थ: जितने भी नाग, असुर, देवता, मनुष्य और मुनि हैं, उनमें से हमने न जाने कितने ही देखे, जीते और मार डाले हैं। पर हे सब भाइयों! सुनो, हमने जन्मभर में ऐसी सुंदरता कहीं नहीं देखी॥2॥
English Translation: …Out of all the serpents, demons, Demigods, and humans that we have encountered, conquered and killed, we have never witnessed a beauty as extraordinary as this anywhere in our life…
भावार्थ: यद्यपि इन्होंने हमारी बहिन को कुरूप कर दिया तथापि ये अनुपम पुरुष वध करने योग्य नहीं हैं। ‘छिपाई हुई अपनी स्त्री हमें तुरंत दे दो और दोनों भाई जीते जी घर लौट जाओ॥3॥
English Translation: …Even though they have disfigured our sister by cutting off her ears and nose, these extraordinary men do not deserve to be killed. Instruct them to promptly surrender the woman they are hiding, and the two Brothers can safely return to their home alive…

भावार्थ: हम क्षत्रिय हैं, वन में शिकार करते हैं और तुम्हारे सरीखे दुष्ट पशुओं को तो ढ़ूँढते ही फिरते हैं। हम बलवान् शत्रु देखकर नहीं डरते। (लड़ने को आवे तो) एक बार तो हम काल से भी लड़ सकते हैं॥5॥
English Translation: …We belong to the warrior clan and have come to the forest to hunt. We roam around, searching for vile animals like you. When faced with a powerful opponent, fear does not grip our hearts, be it even the God of Death for that matter, we are ready to battle him once as well…
भावार्थ: यद्यपि हम मनुष्य हैं, परन्तु दैत्यकुल का नाश करने वाले और मुनियों की रक्षा करने वाले हैं, हम बालक हैं, परन्तु दुष्टों को दण्ड देने वाले। यदि बल न हो तो घर लौट जाओ। संग्राम में पीठ दिखाने वाले किसी को मैं नहीं मारता॥6॥
English Translation: …Though we are humans, we are destroyers of the race of demons. We serve as protectors of the sages. Despite our youth, we have embarked on a mission to punish the wretched. If you lack the strength, retreat from the battlefield, for I do not kill those who turn their backs in a fight…
भावार्थ: रण में चढ़ आकर कपट-चतुराई करना और शत्रु पर कृपा करना (दया दिखाना) तो बड़ी भारी कायरता है। दूतों ने लौटकर तुरंत सब बातें कहीं, जिन्हें सुनकर खर-दूषण का हृदय अत्यंत जल उठा॥7॥
English Translation: …Having come prepared for battle, engaging in deceit and cunning, and demonstrating mercy towards an enemy is perceived as an act of extreme cowardice.” The messengers then quickly went to Khar and Dushan and conveyed Shri Ram’s message to them. Upon hearing the message, their hearts burned with rage.
भावार्थ: (खर-दूषण का) हृदय जल उठा। तब उन्होंने कहा- पकड़ लो (कैद कर लो)। (यह सुनकर) भयानक राक्षस योद्धा बाण, धनुष, तोमर, शक्ति (साँग), शूल (बरछी), कृपाण (कटार), परिघ और फरसा धारण किए हुए दौड़ पड़े। प्रभु श्री रामजी ने पहले धनुष का बड़ा कठोर, घोर और भयानक टंकार किया, जिसे सुनकर राक्षस बहरे और व्याकुल हो गए। उस समय उन्हें कुछ भी होश न रहा।
English Translation: As their hearts burned, and they exclaimed, “Capture Him!” Fierce demon warriors rushed toward Shri Ram, wielding bows and arrows, spears, scimitars, maces, and axes. Foremost, the Lord, with a twang of His bow, created a loud and terrible sound. The demons, deafened by the gruesome noise, lost all their senses in that moment.
भावार्थ: फिर वे शत्रु को बलवान् जानकर सावधान होकर दौड़े और श्री रामचन्द्रजी के ऊपर बहुत प्रकार के अस्त्र-शस्त्र बरसाने लगे॥19 (क)॥
English Translation: Recognizing the formidable opponent, the demon warriors rushed with caution and began to rain down various types of weapons upon Shri Ram.
भावार्थ: श्री रघुवीरजी ने उनके हथियारों को तिल के समान (टुकड़े-टुकड़े) करके काट डाला। फिर धनुष को कान तक तानकर अपने तीर छोड़े॥19 (ख)॥
English Translation: Shri Raghuveer neutralized and tore through all their weapons effortlessly, just like sesame seeds. Drawing his bowstring close to His ears, He began to discharge His arrows.
भावार्थ: तब भयानक बाण ऐसे चले, मानो फुफकारते हुए बहुत से सर्प जा रहे हैं। श्री रामचन्द्रजी संग्राम में क्रुद्ध हुए और अत्यन्त तीक्ष्ण बाण चले॥1॥
English Translation: In the battlefield, Shri Ram unleashed formidable arrows, their hissing sounds resembling innumerable snakes. Filled with rage, He directed countless sharp arrows from His bow.
भावार्थ: अत्यन्त तीक्ष्ण बाणों को देखकर राक्षस वीर पीठ दिखाकर भाग चले। तब खर-दूषण और त्रिशिरा तीनों भाई क्रुद्ध होकर बोले- जो रण से भागकर जाएगा,॥2॥
English Translation: Seeing the extremely sharp arrows, the brave demons turned their backs and fled. Then the three brothers (Khar, Dushan, and Trishira), roared in anger, “Anyone who flees from the battlefield…
भावार्थ: उसका हम अपने हाथों वध करेंगे। तब मन में मरना ठानकर भागते हुए राक्षस लौट पड़े और सामने होकर वे अनेकों प्रकार के हथियारों से श्री रामजी पर प्रहार करने लगे॥3॥
English Translation: … will meet their end at our hands. “Firm in their hearts that their demise was inevitable, the demons turned around to face Shri Ram in battle. Armed with various types of weapons, they launched their attacks against Him.
भावार्थ: शत्रु को अत्यन्त कुपित जानकर प्रभु ने धनुष पर बाण चढ़ाकर बहुत से बाण छोड़े, जिनसे भयानक राक्षस कटने लगे॥4॥
English Translation: Observing the enemies’ extreme fury, Shri Ram aimed arrows at them with His bow, unleashing innumerable sharp iron arrows. The formidable demons began to be cut up into pieces.
भावार्थ: उनकी छाती, सिर, भुजा, हाथ और पैर जहाँ-तहाँ पृथ्वी पर गिरने लगे। बाण लगते ही वे हाथी की तरह चिंग्घाड़ते हैं। उनके पहाड़ के समान धड़ कट-कटकर गिर रहे हैं॥5॥
English Translation: The chests, heads, arms, hands and feet of demons began to fall on the ground everywhere. Screams echoed as the arrows pierced them, slicing their mountain-like torsos, which were tumbling down on the ground.
भावार्थ: योद्धाओं के शरीर कटकर सैकड़ों टुकड़े हो जाते हैं। वे फिर माया करके उठ खड़े होते हैं। आकाश में बहुत सी भुजाएँ और सिर उड़ रहे हैं तथा बिना सिर के धड़ दौड़ रहे हैं॥6॥
English Translation: The brave fighters were chopped into pieces, and their bodies were scattered in many fragments. Through sorcery, they arose once again, their arms and heads soaring into the sky. Headless bodies ran alongside their detached heads.
भावार्थ: चील (या क्रौंच), कौए आदि पक्षी और सियार कठोर और भयंकर कट-कट शब्द कर रहे हैं॥7॥
English Translation: Birds like eagles and crows along with jackals emitted shrill, terrible, and fearsome noises.
भावार्थ: सियार कटकटाते हैं, भूत, प्रेत और पिशाच खोपड़ियाँ बटोर रहे हैं (अथवा खप्पर भर रहे हैं)। वीर-वैताल खोपड़ियों पर ताल दे रहे हैं और योगिनियाँ नाच रही हैं। श्री रघुवीर के प्रचंड बाण योद्धाओं के वक्षःस्थल, भुजा और सिरों के टुकड़े-टुकड़े कर डालते हैं। उनके धड़ जहाँ-तहाँ गिर पड़ते हैं, फिर उठते और लड़ते हैं और ‘पकड़ो-पकड़ो’ का भयंकर शब्द करते हैं॥1॥
English Translation: The jackals, ghosts, spirits, and demons began collecting skulls and filling them with blood. Ghost warriors clapped their hands on the skulls, producing a rhythmic sound, while female demonesses with yogic powers danced to the beat. The formidable arrows of Shri Raghuveer shattered the chests, arms, and heads of the demon warriors. Wherever they lay on the ground, they rose up again, starting to fight, and shouting in terrible voices, “Capture Him, Capture Him”.
भावार्थ: अंतड़ियों के एक छोर को पकड़कर गीध उड़ते हैं और उन्हीं का दूसरा छोर हाथ से पकड़कर पिशाच दौड़ते हैं, ऐसा मालूम होता है मानो संग्राम रूपी नगर के निवासी बहुत से बालक पतंग उड़ा रहे हों। अनेकों योद्धा मारे और पछाड़े गए बहुत से, जिनके हृदय विदीर्ण हो गए हैं, पड़े कराह रहे हैं। अपनी सेना को व्याकुल देखर त्रिशिरा और खर-दूषण आदि योद्धा श्री रामजी की ओर मुड़े॥2॥
English Translation: Vultures hovered around clutching one end of the intestines (of the demons) in their talons, while goblins ran, gripping the opposite end in their hands. This scene resembled a vast playground with innumerable children flying kites. The battlefield was filled with countless defeated demon warriors, laying on the ground, moaning, their chests torn open. Observing their army in profound distress, the warrior leaders, Trishira, Khar, and Dushan, turned towards Shri Ram.
भावार्थ: अनगिनत राक्षस क्रोध करके बाण, शक्ति, तोमर, फरसा, शूल और कृपाण एक ही बार में श्री रघुवीर पर छोड़ने लगे। प्रभु ने पल भर में शत्रुओं के बाणों को काटकर, ललकारकर उन पर अपने बाण छोड़े। सब राक्षस सेनापतियों के हृदय में दस-दस बाण मारे॥3॥
English Translation: In a fit of intense rage, innumerable demons simultaneously unleashed arrows, shakti weapons, spears, tridents, and scimitars upon Shri Ram. The Lord instantly severed the arrows of the enemies with great agility. Challenging them, Shri Ram released His own arrows in response, embedding ten shafts in the chest of each of the enemy army chiefs.
भावार्थ: योद्धा पृथ्वी पर गिर पड़ते हैं, फिर उठकर भिड़ते हैं। मरते नहीं, बहुत प्रकार की अतिशय माया रचते हैं। देवता यह देखकर डरते हैं कि प्रेत (राक्षस) चौदह हजार हैं और अयोध्यानाथ श्री रामजी अकेले हैं। देवता और मुनियों को भयभीत देखकर माया के स्वामी प्रभु ने एक बड़ा कौतुक किया, जिससे शत्रुओं की सेना एक-दूसरे को राम रूप देखने लगी और आपस में ही युद्ध करके लड़ मरी॥4॥
English Translation: On the battlefield, demon warriors would fall only to rise again, engaging in powerful sorcery. The Demigods who were observing from the sky, were filled with fear as fourteen thousand demons were clashing with the single Lord of Ayodhya, Shri Ram. Witnessing the fear in Demigods and Sages, the Lord of Maya, Shri Ram, executed a playful illusionary act. In this enchanting display, the demons perceived Shri Ram in one another. Misled, they began to engage in combat with their fellow demons, each believing the other to be Shri Ram, ultimately leading to their collective demise.
भावार्थ: सब (‘यही राम है, इसे मारो’ इस प्रकार) राम-राम कहकर शरीर छोड़ते हैं और निर्वाण (मोक्ष) पद पाते हैं। कृपानिधान श्री रामजी ने यह उपाय करके क्षण भर में शत्रुओं को मार डाला॥20 (क)॥
English Translation: With resounding cries of “Ram, Ram,” they relinquished their bodies, attaining liberation through the divine power of the Lord’s name. In this way, the ocean of mercy, Shri Ram swiftly vanquished all the demons in just a short span of time.
भावार्थ: देवता हर्षित होकर फूल बरसाते हैं, आकाश में नगाड़े बज रहे हैं। फिर वे सब स्तुति कर-करके अनेकों विमानों पर सुशोभित हुए चले गए॥20 (ख)॥
English Translation: Rejoicing, the Demigods showered flowers and kettledrums resonated in the sky. Then after extolling Shri Ram, everyone returned, gracing many different aeroplanes.
भावार्थ: जब श्री रघुनाथजी ने युद्ध में शत्रुओं को जीत लिया तथा देवता, मनुष्य और मुनि सबके भय नष्ट हो गए, तब लक्ष्मणजी सीताजी को ले आए। चरणों में पड़ते हुए उनको प्रभु ने प्रसन्नतापूर्वक उठाकर हृदय से लगा लिया॥1॥
English Translation: When Shri Ram emerged victorious over the enemies in the battlefield, the fear that had gripped Demigods, Sages, and men dissipated. Then, Lakshman ji brought Sita ji back and clasped Shri Ram’s feet. The Lord joyfully hugged Lakshman ji in reciprocation.
भावार्थ: सीताजी श्री रामजी के श्याम और कोमल शरीर को परम प्रेम के साथ देख रही हैं, नेत्र अघाते नहीं हैं। इस प्रकार पंचवटी में बसकर श्री रघुनाथजी देवताओं और मुनियों को सुख देने वाले चरित्र करने लगे॥2॥
English Translation: Sita ji gazed at Shri Ram’s dark-hued, charming body, Her eyes overflowing with profound love that could not be satiated. Residing at Panchvati, Shri Ram performed numerous exploits that brought delight to the Demigods and Sages.
