भावार्थ:
जब शत्रु के समाचार प्राप्त हो गए, तब श्री रामचंद्रजी ने सब मंत्रियों को पास बुलाया (और कहा-) लंका के चार बड़े विकट दरवाजे हैं। उन पर किस तरह आक्रमण किया जाए, इस पर विचार करो॥1॥
English Translation:
Upon hearing the news of the enemy, Shri Ram summoned all his ministers to come near Him and said, “There are four formidable gates surrounding Lanka. How should we attack them? Please mull over it and suggest accordingly…”
भावार्थ:
तब वानरराज सुग्रीव, ऋक्षपति जाम्बवान् और विभीषण ने हृदय में सूर्य कुल के भूषण श्री रघुनाथजी का स्मरण किया और विचार करके उन्होंने कर्तव्य निश्चित किया। वानरों की सेना के चार दल बनाए॥2॥
English Translation:
Then the King of the Monkeys, Sugriv, the Chief of Bears, Jambvant ji, and Vibhishan, invoked Shri Ram, the crown jewel of the Solar race, in their hearts and devised a solid plan. The army of monkeys was divided into four divisions.
भावार्थ:
और उनके लिए यथायोग्य (जैसे चाहिए वैसे) सेनापति नियुक्त किए। फिर सब यूथपतियों को बुला लिया और प्रभु का प्रताप कहकर सबको समझाया, जिसे सुनकर वानर, सिंह के समान गर्जना करके दौड़े॥3॥
English Translation:
And a General was accordingly assigned to each division. Then all the Generals were summoned, and the Lord’s glory was explained to them. Upon hearing it, the monkeys rushed forward, roaring like lions.
भावार्थ:
वे हर्षित होकर श्री रामजी के चरणों में सिर नवाते हैं और पर्वतों के शिखर ले-लेकर सब वीर दौड़ते हैं। ‘कोसलराज श्री रघुवीरजी की जय हो’ पुकारते हुए भालू और वानर गरजते और ललकारते हैं॥4॥
English Translation:
The monkeys bowed their heads at the Lord’s feet delightfully. Then, holding mountain peaks, the brave heroes sallied forth. The monkeys and bears roared and challenged the enemy with chants of “Victory to Lord Raghuveer of the Koshal Kingdom!”
भावार्थ:
लंका को अत्यंत श्रेष्ठ (अजेय) किला जानते हुए भी वानर प्रभु श्री रामचंद्रजी के प्रताप से निडर होकर चले। चारों ओर से घिरी हुई बादलों की घटा की तरह लंका को चारों दिशाओं से घेरकर वे मुँह से डंके और भेरी बजाने लगे॥5॥
English Translation:
Even though they knew that Lanka was an extremely impregnable fortress, the monkeys marched forward undaunted, guided by the grace of the Lord’s renown. After surrounding Lanka from all the four sides, like a mass of dark clouds spreading over the horizon, they emanated sounds of drums and kettledrums from their mouths.
भावार्थ:
महान् बल की सीमा वे वानर-भालू सिंह के समान ऊँचे स्वर से ‘श्री रामजी की जय’, ‘लक्ष्मणजी की जय’, ‘वानरराज सुग्रीव की जय’- ऐसी गर्जना करने लगे॥39॥
English Translation:
Roaring like lions, the monkeys and bears, each an embodiment of immense strength, shouted, “Victory to Shri Ram, Victory to Shri Lakshman, Victory to the King of Monkeys, Sugriv.”
भावार्थ:
लंका में बड़ा भारी कोलाहल (कोहराम) मच गया। अत्यंत अहंकारी रावण ने उसे सुनकर कहा- वानरों की ढिठाई तो देखो! यह कहते हुए हँसकर उसने राक्षसों की सेना बुलाई॥1॥
English Translation:
There was a lot of commotion in Lanka. Hearing this, the extremely proud ten-headed Ravan said, “Look at the audacity of monkeys”. And laughing loudly he called upon the demon army.
भावार्थ:
बंदर काल की प्रेरणा से चले आए हैं। मेरे राक्षस सभी भूखे हैं। विधाता ने इन्हें घर बैठे भोजन भेज दिया। ऐसा कहकर उस मूर्ख ने अट्टहास किया (वह बड़े जोर से ठहाका मारकर हँसा)॥2॥
English Translation:
Ravan said, “Driven by their impending death, the monkeys have come to Lanka, and all my demons are starving from hunger.” Then, laughing loudly, the fool said, “Destiny has provided my demons with food, right at home…”
भावार्थ:
(और बोला-) हे वीरों! सब लोग चारों दिशाओं में जाओ और रीछ-वानर सबको पकड़-पकड़कर खाओ। (शिवजी कहते हैं-) हे उमा! रावण को ऐसा अभिमान था जैसा टिटिहिरी पक्षी पैर ऊपर की ओर करके सोता है (मानो आकाश को थाम लेगा)॥3॥
English Translation:
…Brave warriors, go in all the four directions, and wherever you find monkeys and bears, seize them and devour them all.” Lord Shiv tells Goddess Parvati, “Uma, Ravan’s false pride was akin to that of a sandpiper bird that sleeps with its legs facing the sky, thinking it will support the sky if it falls.”
भावार्थ:
आज्ञा माँगकर और हाथों में उत्तम भिंदिपाल, साँगी (बरछी), तोमर, मुद्गर, प्रचण्ड फरसे, शूल, दोधारी तलवार, परिघ और पहाड़ों के टुकड़े लेकर राक्षस चले॥4॥
English Translation:
Taking Ravan’s permission, the demons sallied forth, armed with superior slings, spears, iron clubs, maces, fierce axes, tridents, swords, and masses of rocks in their hands.
भावार्थ:
जैसे मूर्ख मांसाहारी पक्षी लाल पत्थरों का समूह देखकर उस पर टूट पड़ते हैं, (पत्थरों पर लगने से) चोंच टूटने का दुःख उन्हें नहीं सूझता, वैसे ही ये बेसमझ राक्षस दौड़े॥5॥
English Translation:
The demons advanced like foolish carnivorous birds that swoop down on red stones (rubies) the moment they see them, unaware of the pain they will inflict upon themselves when their beaks break against the hard gems (in the form of the formidable monkey army).
भावार्थ:
अनेकों प्रकार के अस्त्र-शस्त्र और धनुष-बाण धारण किए करोड़ों बलवान् और रणधीर राक्षस वीर परकोटे के कँगूरों पर चढ़ गए॥40॥
English Translation:
Taking many types of weapons, including bows and arrows, millions of powerful demon warriors climbed up the parapets and bastions of the fort walls. Among them were countless unwavering warriors, steadfast in combat.
भावार्थ:
वे परकोटे के कँगूरों पर कैसे शोभित हो रहे हैं, मानो सुमेरु के शिखरों पर बादल बैठे हों। जुझाऊ ढोल और डंके आदि बज रहे हैं, (जिनकी) ध्वनि सुनकर योद्धाओं के मन में (लड़ने का) चाव होता है॥1॥
English Translation:
On the golden bastions and parapets of Lanka’s fort, they glorified like a cluster of dark clouds atop Mount Meru’s peak. The sound from the clash of kettledrums and tabors filled the hearts of the warriors with enthusiasm to fight.
भावार्थ:
अगणित नफीरी और भेरी बज रही है, (जिन्हें) सुनकर कायरों के हृदय में दरारें पड़ जाती हैं। उन्होंने जाकर अत्यन्त विशाल शरीर वाले महान् योद्धा वानर और भालुओं के ठट्ट (समूह) देखे॥2॥
English Translation:
Innumerable bugles and clarinets sounded, and upon hearing them, faint hearts cracked. The demons went and saw the monkey and bear troops, who were exceptionally huge in size.
भावार्थ:
(देखा कि) वे रीछ-वानर दौड़ते हैं, औघट (ऊँची-नीची, विकट) घाटियों को कुछ नहीं गिनते। पकड़कर पहाड़ों को फोड़कर रास्ता बना लेते हैं। करोड़ों योद्धा कटकटाते और गर्जते हैं। दाँतों से होठ काटते और खूब डपटते हैं॥3॥
English Translation:
The monkey army was marching forward, undeterred by the formidable terrain in their way. Holding mountains, they crushed them to pave their path. Millions of brave fighters roared and made shrill sounds from their mouths. They bit their lips and fiercely challenged the enemy.
भावार्थ:
उधर रावण की और इधर श्री रामजी की दुहाई बोली जा रही है। ‘जय’ ‘जय’ ‘जय’ की ध्वनि होते ही लड़ाई छिड़ गई। राक्षस पहाड़ों के ढेर के ढेर शिखरों को फेंकते हैं। वानर कूदकर उन्हें पकड़ लेते हैं और वापस उन्हीं की ओर चलाते हैं॥4॥
English Translation:
On the other side, Ravan’s demons hailed for his victory, while on this side, Shri Ram’s monkey army shouted for Shri Ram’s victory. With shouts of “Victory, victory, victory,” the two armies clashed. The demons hurled volleys of mountain peaks at the monkey army. The monkeys seized them and hurled them back at the demons.
भावार्थ:
प्रचण्ड वानर और भालू पर्वतों के टुकड़े ले-लेकर किले पर डालते हैं। वे झपटते हैं और राक्षसों के पैर पकड़कर उन्हें पृथ्वी पर पटककर भाग चलते हैं और फिर ललकारते हैं। बहुत ही चंचल और बड़े तेजस्वी वानर-भालू बड़ी फुर्ती से उछलकर किले पर चढ़-चढ़कर गए और जहाँ-तहाँ महलों में घुसकर श्री रामजी का यश गाने लगे।
English Translation:
Carrying massive mountains, the mighty monkeys and bears hurled them at the fort. They pounced and grabbed the demons’ feet, smashing them to the ground before running and challenging the demons to combat once more. The monkeys and bears were extremely agile, fiery, and energized with valour. They swiftly sprang atop the fort, entered many palaces, and chanted Lord Ram’s glory wherever they pleased.
भावार्थ:
फिर एक-एक राक्षस को पकड़कर वे वानर भाग चले। ऊपर आप और नीचे (राक्षस) योद्धा- इस प्रकार वे (किले से) धरती पर आ गिरते हैं॥41॥
English Translation:
Then, holding one demon each in their hands, the monkeys and bears ran and jumped from the top of the fort. With themselves above and the demons below, that’s how they landed on the ground.
भावार्थ:
श्री रामजी के प्रताप से प्रबल वानरों के झुंड राक्षस योद्धाओं के समूह के समूह मसल रहे हैं। वानर फिर जहाँ-तहाँ किले पर चढ़ गए और प्रताप में सूर्य के समान श्री रघुवीर की जय बोलने लगे॥1॥
English Translation:
With the glory of Shri Ram’s name, the mighty monkey troops crushed the demon warrior army. The monkeys then climbed the fort here and there, chanting praises of the Sun-like aura of Shri Raghuveer.
भावार्थ:
राक्षसों के झुंड वैसे ही भाग चले जैसे जोर की हवा चलने पर बादलों के समूह तितर-बितर हो जाते हैं। लंका नगरी में बड़ा भारी हाहाकार मच गया। बालक, स्त्रियाँ और रोगी (असमर्थता के कारण) रोने लगे॥2॥
English Translation:
The armies of demons now started to flee, just like clusters of clouds disperse in strong winds. There was a huge outcry in the city of Lanka, with children, the sick, and women crying everywhere.
भावार्थ:
सब मिलकर रावण को गालियाँ देने लगे कि राज्य करते हुए इसने मृत्यु को बुला लिया। रावण ने जब अपनी सेना का विचलित होना कानों से सुना, तब (भागते हुए) योद्धाओं को लौटाकर वह क्रोधित होकर बोला-॥3॥
English Translation:
Everyone joined in and hurled abuses at Ravan, saying that he had invited his death while he was enjoying his sovereignty. When Ravan heard that his demon army had lost ground and the warriors had beaten a retreat, he became furious.
भावार्थ:
मैं जिसे रण से पीठ देकर भागा हुआ अपने कानों सुनूँगा, उसे स्वयं भयानक दोधारी तलवार से मारूँगा। मेरा सब कुछ खाया, भाँति-भाँति के भोग किए और अब रणभूमि में प्राण प्यारे हो गए!॥4॥
English Translation:
He shouted, “If I hear once more that someone has turned his back on the battlefield, I will kill him with my formidable sword. You consumed everything of mine and enjoyed all sorts of luxuries until now, and now your life has suddenly become so precious to you on the battlefield.”
भावार्थ:
रावण के उग्र (कठोर) वचन सुनकर सब वीर डर गए और लज्जित होकर क्रोध करके युद्ध के लिए लौट चले। रण में (शत्रु के) सम्मुख (युद्ध करते हुए) मरने में ही वीर की शोभा है। (यह सोचकर) तब उन्होंने प्राणों का लोभ छोड़ दिया॥5॥
English Translation:
Hearing the stern words of Ravan, all the demons became fearful and ashamed and returned to face the enemy. They pondered that it is glorious to die facing the enemy on the battlefield, and in this manner, they shattered their love for their own lives.
भावार्थ:
बहुत से अस्त्र-शस्त्र धारण किए, सब वीर ललकार-ललकारकर भिड़ने लगे। उन्होंने परिघों और त्रिशूलों से मार-मारकर सब रीछ-वानरों को व्याकुल कर दिया॥42॥
English Translation:
The demon warriors, wielding numerous weapons, repeatedly challenged the monkey army and clashed with them. Striking with spears and tridents, they inflicted great pain and distress upon the monkeys and bears.
भावार्थ:
(शिवजी कहते हैं-) वानर भयातुर होकर (डर के मारे घबड़ाकर) भागने लगे, यद्यपि हे उमा! आगे चलकर (वे ही) जीतेंगे। कोई कहता है- अंगद-हनुमान् कहाँ हैं? बलवान् नल, नील और द्विविद कहाँ हैं?॥1॥
English Translation:
Lord Shiv tells Goddess Parvati, “Although the monkeys will ultimately emerge victorious, they were fleeing in terror at that moment.” Someone shouted, “Where are Angad and Hanuman? Where are the brave Nal, Neel, and Dvivid?”
भावार्थ:
हनुमान्जी ने जब अपने दल को विकल (भयभीत) हुआ सुना, उस समय वे बलवान् पश्चिम द्वार पर थे। वहाँ उनसे मेघनाद युद्ध कर रहा था। वह द्वार टूटता न था, बड़ी भारी कठिनाई हो रही थी॥2॥
English Translation:
When the mighty Hanuman ji heard that his troops were in distress, he was at the western gate of Lanka, fighting with Meghnad. The gate was not breaking, which was creating a lot of hardship.
भावार्थ:
तब पवनपुत्र हनुमान्जी के मन में बड़ा भारी क्रोध हुआ। वे काल के समान योद्धा बड़े जोर से गरजे और कूदकर लंका के किले पर आ गए और पहाड़ लेकर मेघनाद की ओर दौड़े॥3॥
English Translation:
The son of the Wind God, Hanuman ji felt extremely agitated in his heart. Like a warrior akin to the God of Death, Hanuman ji roared loudly, leaped, and reached the top of Lanka’s fort. Holding a mountain in his hands, he ran after Meghnad.
भावार्थ:
रथ तोड़ डाला, सारथी को मार गिराया और मेघनाद की छाती में लात मारी। दूसरा सारथी मेघनाद को व्याकुल जानकर, उसे रथ में डालकर, तुरंत घर ले आया॥4॥
English Translation:
Hanuman ji then shattered Meghnad’s chariot, slew his charioteer, and delivered a powerful kick to Meghnad’s chest. Seeing Meghnad in a miserable condition, another charioteer quickly rushed to the spot, picked up Meghnad, and carried him away from the battlefield to his palace.
भावार्थ:
इधर अंगद ने सुना कि पवनपुत्र हनुमान् किले पर अकेले ही गए हैं, तो रण में बाँके बालि पुत्र वानर के खेल की तरह उछलकर किले पर चढ़ गए॥43॥
English Translation:
When Angad heard that the son of the Wind God had gone to the fort alone, the stalwart battlefield hero, the son of Bali, leapt and reached the top of the fort with a playful jump.
भावार्थ:
युद्ध में शत्रुओं के विरुद्ध दोनों वानर क्रुद्ध हो गए। हृदय में श्री रामजी के प्रताप का स्मरण करके दोनों दौड़कर रावण के महल पर जा चढ़े और कोसलराज श्री रामजी की दुहाई बोलने लगे॥1॥
English Translation:
Once inside the fort, the two monkeys, fueled by rage, unleashed their fury against the enemy on the battlefield. With Lord Ram’s glory invoked in their hearts, they ran and climbed atop Ravan’s palace, shouting victory for the Lord of Koshal Kingdom, Shri Ram.
भावार्थ:
उन्होंने कलश सहित महल को पकड़कर ढहा दिया। यह देखकर राक्षस राज रावण डर गया। सब स्त्रियाँ हाथों से छाती पीटने लगीं (और कहने लगीं-) अब की बार दो उत्पाती वानर (एक साथ) आ गए हैं॥2॥
English Translation:
They demolished the entire palace of Ravan, including its pinnacle. The King of Demons, Ravan, was frightened by this daring act. The women in the palace were terrified, and beating their chests, they cried out, “This time, two violent and troublesome monkeys have come.”
भावार्थ:
वानरलीला करके (घुड़की देकर) दोनों उनको डराते हैं और श्री रामचंद्रजी का सुंदर यश सुनाते हैं। फिर सोने के खंभों को हाथों से पकड़कर उन्होंने (परस्पर) कहा कि अब उत्पात आरंभ किया जाए॥3॥
English Translation:
With their monkey-like pranks, they terrified the residents and proclaimed the glories of Shri Ramchandra ji. Then, each holding a golden pillar in hand, they said to one another, “Let’s begin our rampage!”
भावार्थ:
वे गर्जकर शत्रु की सेना के बीच में कूद पड़े और अपने भारी भुजबल से उसका मर्दन करने लगे। किसी की लात से और किसी की थप्पड़ से खबर लेते हैं (और कहते हैं कि) तुम श्री रामजी को नहीं भजते, उसका यह फल लो॥4॥
English Translation:
After a loud roar, they jumped into the middle of the demon’s army and began crushing them all with their mighty arms. They slapped some and kicked others, declaring, “Face the consequences of not worshipping Lord Ram.”
भावार्थ:
एक को दूसरे से (रगड़कर) मसल डालते हैं और सिरों को तोड़कर फेंकते हैं। वे सिर जाकर रावण के सामने गिरते हैं और ऐसे फूटते हैं, मानो दही के कूंडे फूट रहे हों॥4॥
English Translation:
Hanuman Ji and Angad crushed the demons by smashing them against each other and chopping off their heads. They tossed the severed heads with such precision that they landed in front of Ravan, and shattered like earthen pots filled with curd.
भावार्थ:
जिन बड़े-बड़े मुखियों (प्रधान सेनापतियों) को पकड़ पाते हैं, उनके पैर पकड़कर उन्हें प्रभु के पास फेंक देते हैं। विभीषणजी उनके नाम बतलाते हैं और श्री रामजी उन्हें भी अपना धाम (परम पद) दे देते हैं॥1॥
English Translation:
If they found a chief commander among the demons, they seized them by the legs and threw them towards Lord Ram. Vibhishan mentioned their names to the Lord, and Shri Ram granted them His own abode as their resting place after death.
भावार्थ:
ब्राह्मणों का मांस खाने वाले वे नरभोजी दुष्ट राक्षस भी वह परम गति पाते हैं, जिसकी योगी भी याचना किया करते हैं, (परन्तु सहज में नहीं पाते)। (शिवजी कहते हैं-) हे उमा! श्री रामजी बड़े ही कोमल हृदय और करुणा की खान हैं। (वे सोचते हैं कि) राक्षस मुझे वैरभाव से ही सही, स्मरण तो करते ही हैं॥2॥
English Translation:
The vile demons who used to devour Brahmins and were man-eaters thus attained a destiny that even the most realized saints yearn for. Lord Shiv tells Goddess Parvati, “Uma, Lord Ram is extremely soft-hearted and a mine of compassion. He considered that the demons, despite their hostility, still thought of Him…
भावार्थ:
ऐसा हृदय में जानकर वे उन्हें परमगति (मोक्ष) देते हैं। हे भवानी! कहो तो ऐसे कृपालु (और) कौन हैं? प्रभु का ऐसा स्वभाव सुनकर भी जो मनुष्य भ्रम त्याग कर उनका भजन नहीं करते, वे अत्यंत मंदबुद्धि और परम भाग्यहीन हैं॥3॥
English Translation:
…Therefore, thinking like this in His heart, Shri Ram granted them the highest state of final beatitude or liberation. Who can be as kind as Him, O’ Bhawani? Hearing about such a Lord, if a person does not renounce his infatuation and worship Shri Ram, there can be no one as dull-witted and extremely unlucky as that person.”
भावार्थ:
श्री रामजी ने कहा कि अंगद और हनुमान किले में घुस गए हैं। दोनों वानर लंका में (विध्वंस करते) कैसे शोभा देते हैं, जैसे दो मन्दराचल समुद्र को मथ रहे हों॥4॥
English Translation:
The Lord of Ayodhya, Shri Ram, said, “Angad and Hanuman have entered the fort. While creating a rampage, the two monkeys are glorifying like a pair of mighty Mandrachal mountains churning the ocean.”
भावार्थ:
भुजाओं के बल से शत्रु की सेना को कुचलकर और मसलकर, फिर दिन का अंत होता देखकर हनुमान् और अंगद दोनों कूद पड़े और श्रम थकावट रहित होकर वहाँ आ गए, जहाँ भगवान् श्री रामजी थे॥45॥
English Translation:
With the might of their arms, Angad and Hanuman ji crushed and battered the enemy troops. As the day came to an end, the two leaped down from the fort without any exertion and went to where Lord Ram was.
भावार्थ:
उन्होंने प्रभु के चरण कमलों में सिर नवाए। उत्तम योद्धाओं को देखकर श्री रघुनाथजी मन में बहुत प्रसन्न हुए। श्री रामजी ने कृपा करके दोनों को देखा, जिससे वे श्रमरहित और परम सुखी हो गए॥1॥
English Translation:
They went and bowed their heads at the Lord’s lotus feet. Seeing the two warriors, Shri Raghupati was delighted in His heart. Shri Ram graciously glanced at both of them, and they became free of all their fatigue and felt very happy.
भावार्थ:
अंगद और हनुमान् को गए जानकर सभी भालू और वानर वीर लौट पड़े। राक्षसों ने प्रदोष (सायं) काल का बल पाकर रावण की दुहाई देते हुए वानरों पर धावा किया॥2॥
English Translation:
Seeing Angad and Hanuman ji gone from the battlefield, various monkey warriors also started to return to their camp. Meanwhile, the demons regained more strength with the arrival of dusk and chased after the monkey army, proclaiming the ten-headed Ravan’s victory.
भावार्थ:
राक्षसों की सेना आती देखकर वानर लौट पड़े और वे योद्धा जहाँ-तहाँ कटकटाकर भिड़ गए। दोनों ही दल बड़े बलवान् हैं। योद्धा ललकार-ललकारकर ल़ड़ते हैं, कोई हार नहीं मानते॥3॥
English Translation:
Seeing the demon army approaching, the monkeys turned back from here and there, making shrieking noises from their teeth in fury, and the warriors from both the sides clashed. Both armies were formidable and challenged each other, fighting fiercely. No one was willing to accept defeat.
भावार्थ:
सभी राक्षस महान् वीर और अत्यंत काले हैं और वानर विशालकाय तथा अनेकों रंगों के हैं। दोनों ही दल बलवान् हैं और समान बल वाले योद्धा हैं। वे क्रोध करके लड़ते हैं और खेल करते (वीरता दिखलाते) हैं॥4॥
English Translation:
The demons were all powerful warriors and had dark complexions. The monkeys were mighty in size and came in many colours. Both armies were formidable, and their warriors were equal in strength. Displaying their martial feats, they fought with fury.
भावार्थ:
(राक्षस और वानर युद्ध करते हुए ऐसे जान पड़ते हैं) मानो क्रमशः वर्षा और शरद् ऋतु में बहुत से बादल पवन से प्रेरित होकर लड़ रहे हों। अकंपन और अतिकाय इन सेनापतियों ने अपनी सेना को विचलित होते देखकर माया की॥5॥
English Translation:
It seemed as if clusters of rain and autumnal clouds clashed together, driven by strong winds. The demon commanders, Akampan and Atikay, seeing their armies lose ground, employed their illusionary energy.
भावार्थ:
पलभर में अत्यंत अंधकार हो गया। खून, पत्थर और राख की वर्षा होने लगी॥6॥
English Translation:
Within minutes, it became pitch dark, and blood, stones, and ashes started to rain down from the sky.

दसों दिशाओं में अत्यंत घना अंधकार देखकर वानरों की सेना में खलबली पड़ गई। एक को एक (दूसरा) नहीं देख सकता और सब जहाँ-तहाँ पुकार रहे हैं॥46॥
English Translation:
Seeing dense darkness in all directions, the monkey army grew worried. It was so dark that they could not even see each other, and there was an outcry everywhere.
भावार्थ:
श्री रघुनाथजी सब रहस्य जान गए। उन्होंने अंगद और हनुमान् को बुला लिया और सब समाचार कहकर समझाया। सुनते ही वे दोनों कपिश्रेष्ठ क्रोध करके दौड़े॥1॥
English Translation:
Lord Raghunayak understood the demons’ move and called upon Angad and Hanuman ji. He explained how the demon commanders had created this scene using their sorcery tricks and gave them instructions. Hearing this, these two elephants among monkeys ran to help their army.
भावार्थ:
फिर कृपालु श्री रामजी ने हँसकर धनुष चलाया और तुरंत ही अग्निबाण चलाया, जिससे प्रकाश हो गया, कहीं अँधेरा नहीं रह गया। जैसे ज्ञान के उदय होने पर (सब प्रकार के) संदेह दूर हो जाते हैं॥2॥
English Translation:
Then the merciful Lord laughed, quickly strung His bow, and launched a fire arrow. Immediately, there was brightness everywhere, and no sign of darkness remained, just like when the light of wisdom dawns, all doubts are dispelled.
भावार्थ:
भालू और वानर प्रकाश पाकर श्रम और भय से रहित तथा प्रसन्न होकर दौड़े। हनुमान् और अंगद रण में गरज उठे। उनकी हाँक सुनते ही राक्षस भाग छूटे॥3॥
English Translation:
Seeing the brightness, the monkeys and bears ran with joy, and all their fatigue vanished. Hanuman ji and Angad thundered on the battlefield, and hearing their roars, all the demons fled.
भावार्थ:
भागते हुए राक्षस योद्धाओं को वानर और भालू पकड़कर पृथ्वी पर दे मारते हैं और अद्भुत (आश्चर्यजनक) करनी करते हैं (युद्धकौशल दिखलाते हैं)। पैर पकड़कर उन्हें समुद्र में डाल देते हैं। वहाँ मगर, साँप और मच्छ उन्हें पकड़-पकड़कर खा डालते हैं॥4॥
English Translation:
The monkeys and bears displayed their unique strength and skills by grabbing and smashing the demon warriors who were fleeing from the battle. Then holding their feet, they hurled the demons into the ocean, where crocodiles, serpents, and fish caught and devoured them.
